  • Weather: Irish (liquid sunshine!)
  • Pubs: just for holders of a (somewhat) valid ID!
  • Aran Islands and Cliffs of Moher: breath-taking

Social programme:

  • Sunday: Arrival at Dublin Airport & coach transfer to Galway and to host families
  • Monday: Boat ride to Inis Mór (Aran Islands) – we spotted some dolphins! – and bike tour to the prehistoric stone fort, Dun Aengus, perched dramatically on the edge of the Atlantic; seal watching on our way there and a refreshing stop at the beach (some got their feet wet, some more!)
  • Tuesday night: Irish Dance lessons. Front and back and front and jump! And no questions! 
  • Wednesday: Visit to the Aquarium in Salthill (“hand-to-fin” experience of Atlantic sea life)
  • Thursday evening: class dinner at the “Murty Rabbitt’s” in Forster Street: we had a great time!
  • Friday afternoon: The Ed-Fest!!
  • Saturday: Day tour of the Burren and the spectacular Cliffs of Moher
  • Saturday night: 3 of us made it to Pearse Stadium to see and listen to Ed Sheeran: My, my, my, my Galway Girl!
  • Sunday: Mother’s Day! Mom, here I come!
