Ongoing ProjectsChinese Teachers on the Tracks of Prince Eugene of Savoy On 26th October, the Austrian National Holiday, 20 Chinese teachers of Tourism Management, who are currently attending an eight-week seminar at the Tourism College MODUL, strolled on the tracks of Austrian history. One of the most brilliant figures of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy was definitely Field Marshall Prince Eugene of Savoy (1663 – 1736) who had splendid Baroque palaces built in the East of Austria. Our guests visited one of the Baroque jewels in Marchfeld, Schlosshof Palace. The light drizzle could not cast a cloud over the good mood and cheerful spirit of the Chinese teachers. During the eight weeks at MODUL our guests learn about modern teaching methods, efficient school organization; they are updated on latest trends and developments in tourism management and they can savour genuine Viennese hospitality. Cooperation with Turkey While MODUL students were catering to the guests of the Austrian pavilion of the IZMIR Tourism Fair, W. Habitzl and K. Wagner visited the region with the purpose of offering MODUL know-how to Turkish schools and companies. They contacted schools and hotels in Izmir and Kuşadasi. The schools showed great interest in student exchange, partnerships and common school projects that should help them to enhance the quality of their training and their students to widen their horizon and increase their knowledge. The managers of resort hotels were particularly interested in our customised seminars for their staff. MODUL’s activities in Turkey, which are strongly supported by the Austrian Embassy and Trade Commission, will certainly be intensified in the future. MODUL - Host to the World The Tourism College MODUL offers teaching programmes and services that are seen as models by many teaching experts and educational authorities from all over the world. Numerous delegations from different countries visit us every year to get to know our concepts, methods and secrets of success. This year MODUL has already hosted delegations from Turkmenistan, Malaysia, China and Armenia and is looking forward to welcoming further delegations soon. |
